Diary Entry #3: 5 Fashion Obsessions Of Winter

Good evening everyone! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start. I’ve decided to share with you my 5 fashion obsessions of winter. Let’s go!

My first obsession is Ralph Lauren’s Ricky bag. I recently saw this gorgeous bag in Vogue’s December issue. I love this bag because it can easily be dressed up or down. Some versions of the bag even include a battery charger and light. You will pay a pretty penny for this bag. They start at $2,500, but its a great investment.

My second obsession is the fur scarf. Fur scarfs are a great way to stay warm and cozy this holiday season. They are very versatile. You can wear them with pea coats and dresses or jeans and oversized sweaters. I currently have one ordered from aldoshoes.com. I found mine for $40. The price really depends on if you want real fur or faux fur. Either way, they are a good way to turn up your wardrobe this winter.

This beautiful light brown trench coat is my third obsession. These are great to wear with sweaters when you want a light weight coat. I would suggest tying the belt for an editorial look. The one above is $ 1,495 from Burberry. But, I’m sure you could find a similar and more affordable one at Forever21 or any department store.

The Trolly Ankle Boot from Nordstrom, my fourth obsession, are a steal at $99.95. I love these in black, but I would also love a pair in light brown. These could be dressed up with tights or trouser pants or could be dressed down with rolled up jeans and a leather jacket.

My fifth and final obsession of winter is the Tiffany & Co. T Bracelet. These come in come in many different sizes and can be decorated with diamonds. My favorite is the one above, starting at $5000. This is a timeless piece. It’s simple, sweet, and classic Tiffany’s.

Diary entry # 2: Angel Wings and Sexy Things

Hello! Good Evening everyone. Just like every one else, I saw the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show a week in advance thanks to social media. But, I still really enjoyed watching the shows broadcast last night. This year, London hosted the show, which I could not agree with more. I found myself envious and entertained.

The show opened to a flawless classic rock mix soundtrack as the gladiator Angels stomped down the runway. The first set of the night was Dream Girls. The Dream Girls set showcased the sexiness of innocence with pastel pinks and baby blues and yellows. During the set, Taylor Swift filled the air with her lovers revenge song “Blank Space”.  She dressed in apparel similar to the models. Which had me asking the question: “Why the heck isn’t she a model.” The next set, The Exotic Travaler, began with the lovely Ed Sheeran singing his new love ballad “Thinking out Loud”. This was a special set because it showcased the  2 million dollar Fantasy Bras. The blue fantasy bra worn by Adriana Lima and the red worn by Alessandra Ambrosio, who are obviously best friends by the way the walked hand in hand down the runway. The next segment belonged to The University of PINK. Ariana Grande sang a medly of her hits on a rainbow colored runway where models wore tube socks, sporty apparel, and graffiti wings. The last set before the finale was The Fairytale. The Hozier song “Take me to Church” was set to a beautiful woodsy stage were the models traded in their angel wings for fairy wings. Now for my favorite part,The finale! Taylor Swift returned to the stage to close the show by debuting her new song “Style”. If the first set was about innocence then the finale was about experience. Some models were in white but, the majority wore sultry black lace. It was defiantly the right way to end the show.

Below I’ve included some of my favorite looks from the show. Note: I DO NOT own any of the photos.

Diary entry #1: Oh Christmas Tree

Good evening to all! Unlike most 18year olds, who should be partying because of the wonderful holiday that the end of fall classes are, I spent my Friday decorating the Christmas tree. Which I found was a perfect way to spend my Friday night! I’ve lately discovered, it’s not so much the thing you do that makes your days great, it’s the people you do them with that make them memorable. Albert Einstein said to “Rejoice with your family in the beautiful land of life.”  My dad, the goofball seen below, helped me this year. It was a great bonding experience and it also helped me realize that neither one of us should ever go into the decorating Christmas trees business. Haha.

Welcome to The Madness!

Welcome to my blog! I want to thank you for taking an interest in it. At first, my intentions were for this to be a fashion blog. But, I decided it would only be fair if I also let you in on the adventures of my life as an undergrad. I know, it sounds so fascinating. Haha. But, you would be surprised.

So, I decided to make this a “diary” of the daily events that come up in my everyday life. But don’t worry! The fashion will still be in there, as it plays such a big part in my life. I want to document my relationships, adventures, passions, and dreams. And hopefully, I will inspire others to experience knew things and take chances as all of you have inspired me.

I want to leave you with my favorite quote from one of my favorite books.

“And as each and all of them were warmed without by the sun, so each had a private little sun for her soul to bask in; some dream, some affection, some hobby, at least some remote and distant hope which, though starving to nothing, still lived on, as hopes will.”

– Thomas Hardy, Tess of The D’Urbervilles
